The tiger nail plant is one of several species that are being cultivated by U.K. researchers as part of a global effort to save the tiger.

She said the plants could help reduce the number of pandemic-caused deaths in future.
If a plant can’t be grown in the wild, it can be grown for medical purposes.
Dr. David Stannard, the head of veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, said the plant’s ability to provide a home to the animals would make it a great model for people.
“If you’re breeding a plant to grow, it has a big impact on its environment, which is a very good thing,” Stannart said.
“It also has a huge impact on your ability to have a successful breeding program and to make a product that will do you good.”
The Tiger Plant is also part of the international efforts to help animals.
U.N. officials said in April that the world has lost more than one-third of its remaining tigers.
They said a team of researchers at the U., U.A.E., France and Britain is studying how the plant and its companion, the African violet, could help the animals survive the pandemics.
