From manufacturing the best-selling nail polishes to the world-renowned nail art company, we all know the brands we loved.
But in the last couple of years, it has become clear that America’s nail factories have been shuttered.
In many ways, the nail manufacturing industry has been a disaster.
When America’s factories shut down during the Great Recession, it was the result of decades of overproduction, low productivity, and a lack of workers to support them.
That was a huge loss for the economy and the consumer.
But the nail industry, especially the nail art industry, has not been immune to the economic downturn.
“The nail industry has experienced a tremendous decline, and it’s the nail-polish industry that’s the hardest hit by it,” says James McKean, founder and president of McKeans Associates, a nail manufacturing company in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Nail manufacturing is one of the largest and most important industries in the U.S. We have about 5,000 plants and we’ve lost almost 300 jobs since the recession began.”
“It’s a tough industry,” he says.
“When you lose jobs, it’s like losing a spouse.
You’re not going to be able to get back on your feet.”
The nail factories, which are located in many states, are located around the country.
They make all the nails used to polish the tops of our nails.
They also make nail polish and other beauty products, such as cosmetics, toothpastes, and body lotions.
They produce about 10 million nails a year.
It’s the industry that employs more than 12 million people and accounts for more than a third of the U,S.
gross domestic product.
McKean says it’s important to look at the nail factory as a whole, rather than just one particular factory.
The nail manufacturing business is important to the U and the U economy because it creates a ton of jobs.
But it’s also important because it’s a crucial industry that makes a big impact on the environment.
It takes about 10 percent of the energy used to make nails and other products and converts it to heat that is then used for heating buildings and power plants.
McKay says it would be a huge mistake to take the nail factories off the map, but it’s hard to do so because of their impact on both the environment and the economy.
He says the factories have to shut down and rebuild to make them viable again.
He says it is not easy to reopen factories that have been destroyed or damaged by fire.
And he says the plants are also struggling financially.
McKee says there are two main reasons why he believes the nail production industry is being hurt by the economic crisis.
The first is the cost of raw materials.
When the factories were built in the 1970s, it cost $10 to make a nail.
But today, that’s down to $1.50 per nail.
McKeefe says the nail industries have been hit hard by the recession.
They’ve lost about 100 manufacturing jobs in the past two years alone.
“There’s a lot of stress, a lot more pressure,” he said.
“It’s very difficult for the plants to keep up with demand.”
And the second reason, he says, is that many of the plants that were created during the recession have been sold off or shuttered due to lack of workforce.
He explains that the factory owners that were involved in the nail painting and nail polish business are now in the construction industry.
And while the nail artists, manicurists, and manicurist assistants are the primary employees at these plants, the plant owners have to rely on their employees to produce and maintain products and services.
McDeans says it takes more than the economic recession to hurt the nail plants.
He says it has to do with the fact that the nail manufacturers are in a position of leverage when it comes to labor.
McKeans says the workers are not getting paid enough.
And he says they don’t have the skills they need to maintain and improve the facilities.
It’s also very difficult to get new workers into the plant, because the plants have been built with a single-storey structure.
When a nail factory needs to be renovated, the workers have to be hired.
And once they get there, the plants must build a new building.
McMcKeens says he thinks the nail building industry will have to reopen, but not because the economy is getting better.
I think that the economy needs to get better,” he tells Business Insider.
We need to get more people to the workplace.
And I think the nail plant workers are going to have to start working again.”
